Home electricity saving tips are what we need in order to lower our utilities. If our income is not getting any higher then it would be best to lower our costs.

There are so many electricity saving tips and though they may seem common-knowledge, how many of them do you actually use?

1. List down your appliances that you use most of the time and try to see how you could reduce their usage. For example, we could probably save up if we set the heater on its timer so that it turns off when we are asleep.

2. Set a schedule for using some machines or appliances. For example, one could iron clothes once a week instead of ironing daily.

3. Make sure your appliances and electrical circuits are working properly, this not only helps you save, it is also for your safety. Clean them regularly or have them inspected when necessary.

4. Consider appliances with less usage like light bulbs or maybe change lamps. Several appliances now also offer electricity-saving features.

5. Unplug everything when you leave the house. The appliances may be turned off but it could still be running some electricity.

6. Try to do most things during the daytime, as you need not turn the incandescent lights on.

7. You do not have to plug your laptop all the time if it has fully charged batteries.

8. If something is not being used, turn them off.

9. If there are children at home then it would also be best to put the sleep-timer off for them.

10. Try some devices that help you save electricity like an ironing pad that turns off the iron when you lay it flat on their device. Then as soon as you pick it up, it runs electricity again. This saves you the electricity when you fix your clothes first while ironing.

With these simple green ideas, we would surely lessen our costs and save money for more stuff that we could use and enjoy.
